Ilene Pitman Prows, 85, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was born in Cains Store, Kentucky on March 30, 1930, daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy" Pitman. She was a homemaker and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She was a talented seamstress who worked at Palm Beach before marriage and family. She enjoyed making clothes for her children and herself. While she and her family resided in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a stay at home mom who babysat the children of nearby factory workers. One child, very special to her and her family, was Rusty Nichols. She was a meticulous housekeeper and had a kind heart for animals.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Elizabeth & (Andy) Roberts of Eubank and Lisa Lee Prows-Rodney & (Michael Scott Rodney) of Richmond, VA, one granddaughter, Aleisha Beth Roberts of Eubank, a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien Lee Prows, one son, Douglas Warren Prows, two brothers, Chester Pitman and Emery Pitman and one sister, Edith Pitman Webb.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Adamson officiating.
Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
