Etta Pearl (Poynter) Howard

Etta Pearl (Poynter) Howard, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Woodstock, Kentucky on January 31, 1913, daughter of the late Luther and Laura Colyer Poynter. She was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress and a factory worker. She was a member of Woodstock Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Rush of Somerset and one brother, Noah Edwin Poynter of Somerset. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester H. Howard, who died on May 4, 1993, her parents, two brothers, Clarence Everett Poynter and Otis Poynter and one sister, Sella Mae Smithern. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
