Ernest L. Branscum, 89, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Delta, Kentucky on January 4, 1926, son of the late Herbert and Flora Flynn Branscum. He was a farmer and a member of Old Fashion Faith Baptist Church. He was a World War II US Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Zella Keith Branscum of Eubank, three sons, Don & (Judy) Branscum of Somerset, Dean & (Melissa) Branscum and Dale & (Janice) Branscum, both of Eubank, two daughters, Linda Branscum and Lisa & (Wayne) Saylor, both of Eubank, one sister, Mabel Keith of Eubank, twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, Elbert Branscum, Robert Branscum and six brothers who died in infancy, five sisters, Rose Riley, Sarah Johnson, Mary King and Jean Pikey and one sister who died in infancy and a sister-in-law.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, November 20, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Don Branscum and Bro. Larry Harris officiating.
Burial will be in Buncombe Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
