Glenn Allen Faw, 76, of Highway 328 East in Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.
He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on February 9, 1933, son of the late Robert A. Faw and Maude Phillips Faw Wheeldon. He was a farmer and factory worker, retiring from McKechnie in 1998. He was a member of Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He served the Lord for many years by filling roles in the church, including Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Clerk, Treasurer and Trustee. He was highly respected in the community and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Vada Frances Williams Faw, whom he married on September 19, 1953, one son, Barry Lynn Faw of Eubank, two daughters, Marcia Karen & (Larry) Cook of Eubank and Kathy Arlene Wilson of Louisville, two sisters, Iva Todd of West Burlington, IA and Dorothy & (Forrest) Wheeldon of Eubank, one sister-in-law, Pearl Faw of Cave City, KY, four grandchildren, Melinda & (Andrew) Schmied, Kevin & (Auburn) Cook, Stephanie & (Nick) Willis and Melody & (Justin) Rinker and five great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brayden Schmied, Ethan and Kaelyn Willis and Gavin Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ervan Faw and one sister, Faye Faw Wheeldon.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church with Bro. C.E. Jacobs, Bro. Ronald Rose and Bro. Bill Meece officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 1 PM Sunday at Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church.
