Gladis "Sam" Eldridge, 67, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Blackey, Kentucky on April 17, 1941, son of the late Howard and Mary Caudill Eldridge. He enjoyed everyday of life and especially loved going to church, Just Family Adult Day Center and family reunions. He attended Beulah Church of God in Eubank.
He is survived by his sister, Mabel Collins of Eubank, who was his caregiver for 26 years, sisters, Violet & (Burt) Trumbo of Hodgenville, KY, Elsie Todd of Knoxville, TN, Jeanette & (Gale) Hampton of Waynesburg and Betty & (Charles) Fields of Mt. Washington, KY, two brothers, Burnest & (Wanda) Eldridge of Lebanon, KY and Ernest & (Faye) Eldridge of Waynesburg, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Denver Eldridge and one who died in infancy, one sister, Ora Eldridge and a brother-in-law, Chester Collins Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Sister Jessica Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
