Reece Phelps

Reece Phelps, 81, of Argyle, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Rockcastle County Respiratory Care Center. He was born in Casey County, Kentucky on April 1, 1928, son of the late Albert and Dorsey Brown Phelps. He was a farmer. On April 4, 2009, Reece accepted Christ as his Savior, as a relative witnessed to him. He is survived by one son, Danny & (Beverly) Phelps of Argyle, one brother, Oakley Phelps of Yosemite, six nephews, Ronnie Phelps, Wayne Phelps, Gene Phelps and Dale Phelps, all of Lincoln County, Keith Phelps of Bethel Ridge and James Phelps of Randleman, NC, two nieces, Jo Ann Tharp of Junction City and Cynthia Stewart of Danville, six sisters-in-law and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Coleman Phelps, his parents and two brothers, Marcus Phelps and Thomas Phelps. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Owens officiating. Burial will be in Valley Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
