Samuel F. Wood, Jr.

Samuel F. Wood, Jr., 79, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on January 20, 1937, son of the late Samuel and Lula Brown Wood, Sr. He was a home builder and of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Campbell Wood of Eubank, four sons, Rex & (Kim) Wood of Eubank, Bryan Wood of Science Hill, Randy & (Julie) Thomas of Danville, KY and Stephen Thomas of Eubank, two sisters, Elizabeth & (Gerald) Lovins of Somerset and Grace & (Ervin) Carlier of Blanchester, OH and six grandchildren, Taylor Gibson, Autumn Wood, Tyler Wood, Liam Wood, Blake Thomas and Emilee Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #18 of Lincoln County. Visitation will be after 11 AM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
