Robert Smith, 84, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on November 2, 1931, son of the late Shade and Surilda Smith. He was a repairman and operator for Everlock Detroit. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Eva Stroud Smith, of Somerset, three sons, Robert Allen & (Gloria) Smith of Albuquerque, NM, Glenn & (Carrie) Smith of Rochester Hills, MI and James Lewis & (LaRae) Smith of Pickerington, OH, one daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith of Culloden, WV, two sisters, Cordelia Burton of Lewisburg, TN and Lilly St. Clair of Clintwood, VA, four grandchildren, Shannon Pack of Charleston, WV, Shelby & (Gary) Crossen of Lavalette, WV, Thomas & (Lauren) Smith of Clarkston, MI and Joseph Smith of Shelby Township, MI and one great-grandchild, Trenton Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Darrell Keith Smith and seven brothers, Roscoe Smith, Arnold Smith, Almo Smith, Elmo Smith, William Smith, Sherman Smith and Henry Smith. Visitation will be after 10 AM Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Slade Moore officiating. Burial will be in Crum Cemetery in Dunlow, WV. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
