James Lee "Jim" Cooper

April 29, 1942 — April 26, 2009

James Lee "Jim" Cooper, 66, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 26th at the Sumner Regional Hospital in Gallatin, TN. He was born in Science Hill on April 29, 1942, the son of the late Roy Lee and Pearl Dickerson Cooper. He was retired from Quebecor and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by two brothers, Larry &( Florence) Cooper of Somerset, KY and Donald &(Catherine) Cooper of Science Hill, KY, two sisters, Joyce & (Dalton) Morgan of Collierville, TN, Margaret Wells of Corbin, KY, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, extended family, Celia Shouse, Orville Morgan and family, Dwight McDole and Yolanda McDole along with a host of relatives and friends. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
