Janice Marie Smith

Janice Marie Smith, 68, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was born in Ware, Kentucky on September 9, 1947, daughter of the late Roscoe and Christene Hodge Roberts. She was a LPN for the Children's Clinic and a member of Saline Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Jimmy Smith & (Renee) of Science Hill, one daughter, Kellie Susan Smith Wood & (Ernie) of Somerset, one brother, Donald Roberts of Science Hill, four sisters, Ada Roberts Godsey & (Gene) of Science Hill, Geneva Roberts Baugh & (Jerry) of Somerset, Gladys Roberts McElyea & (Steve) of Scottsville, KY and Mildred Roberts Clark & (Rodger) of Aliance, NE, former husband, Hoy Smith, Jr. of Science Hill, nine grandchildren, Heather, Kendra, Mallory, Candice, Cody, Stacey Thurman & (John), Danielle, Caleb and Coltin and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ferrell Roberts. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Noah Broughton and Bro. Melvin Sisson officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
