Nannie Jean Derry

Nannie Jean Derry, 87, of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She was born in South Fork, Kentucky on June 9, 1928, daughter of the late Willie Grant and Myrtle Lake Carter Lucas. She was a seamstress for Cowdens and a member of South Fork Baptist Church. She and her husband, Tommy, ran Derry Shoe Shop in Kings Mountain for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Thelma Sue & (Delmer) Stull of Kings Mountain, one brother, Jimmy Ray Lucas, one sister, Martha Dennis and one grandchild, Allen Stull. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Derry, three brothers, Elmer B. Lucas, Odie Lucas and William Lucas and four sisters, Barbara Ann Lucas, Margaret Ruth Gooch, Ruby Carter Lucas and Marcella Wilcher. A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gooch Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:30 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
