John W. "Johnrow" Baker

January 31, 1943 — March 26, 2016

John W. "Johnrow" Baker, 73, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on January 31, 1943, son of the late Henry and Sarah Rachel Dykes Baker. He was a logger and a member of Holiness Faith Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and making people laugh and smile. He is survived by his wife, Lois Mason Baker of Somerset, two sons, John W. Baker, Jr. of Somerset, Kris N. & (Jamie) Baker of Dundee, MI, one daughter, Donna J. & (Dennis) Jackson of East Bernstadt, KY, three grandchildren, Nicholas Smith of Somerset, Kendall Baker and Mason Baker, both of Dundee, MI, two brothers, George & (Helen) Baker and Stanley & (Vicki) Baker, one sister, Wilretha & (Paul) Shelton, two step brothers, Lanny Cathers and Larry Cathers, one step sister, Inez Patton, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Melvin, Robert Wayne, Lloyd Dwight, LeRoy and Richard and one sister, Jane Shelton. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Charley Helton and Bro. Marty Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
