James Richard "Dickie" Woods

James Richard "Dickie" Woods, 65, of West Highway 635 in Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 29, 1944, son of the late Willie D. and Eva Mae Taylor Woods. He was a U.S. Army veteran attaining the rank of E-4. He is survived by four daughters, Jamia & (Scott) Ross of Georgetown, KY, Angelia Taylor and Kimberly Goodlett, both of Cincinnati, OH and Teresa & (David) Starks of Somerset, one son, Mark & (Lakia) Estes of Somerset, four brothers, Jack Freeman Woods of Casey County, Vincent Gerald Woods of Cincinnati, OH, Roger Lee Woods of Science Hill and Dennis Terry Woods of Casey County, one sister, Norma Jean Baker of Cincinnati, OH, companion, Linda Girdler of Science Hill and four grandchildren, Maranda Ross, Taylor Nicole Huston, Shelby Jeane Huston and Casey James Huston. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edwin Darrell Woods and Robert Lawrence Woods. A funeral service will be held at 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with military honors by the American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 4 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
