Ellan Childers

Ellan Childers, 87, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on August 15, 1928, daughter of the late Jake and Martha Hoskins Sizemore. She was a retired housekeeper for Holiday Inn. She is survived by three sons, Ralph "Rocky" & (Julia) Childers of Somerset, Randy & (Connie) Childers of Georgetown, KY and Byron Childers of Somerset, one brother, John H. Sizemore of Clay County, KY, one sister, Lula Napier of London, KY, seven grandchildren, Brandy, Shane, Seth, Heather, Amoreena, Nathan and Natalie and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. "Charlie" Childers, her parents, a daughter, Yvonne Childers, who died in infancy, three brothers, Chet Sizemore, Robert Sizemore and Clyde Sizemore and three sisters, Haley Sizemore, Georgia Clair and Grace Sizemore. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 15, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 Noon Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
