Loyd Barber

Loyd Barber, 85, of West Hwy 635 in Science Hill, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Bethel Ridge, Kentucky on February 14, 1924, son of the late Hugel and Bexie (Phelps) Barber. He was a machinist for the Ohio Knife Company and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife Ella Mae (Randolph) Barber, whom were united in marriage on March 28, 1945, four sons, Donnie Barber and Dwayne Barber both of Cincinnati, OH, David Barber and Dwight Barber both of Georgetown, OH, three daughters, Diane & (Charles) McAfee of Georgetown, OH, Darlene & (Dave) Leen of Cincinnati, OH and Deborah & (Kenny) Wegford of Cincinnati, OH, seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Danny Lee Barber and Loyd Darrell Barber. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Friday, May 29, 2009 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Harper and Bro. David Godbey officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38. Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
