Henry C. Johnson, Jr., 87, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Newport, Kentucky on April 20, 1929, son of the late Iva Downard and Henry C. Johnson, Sr. He served as a Pharmacy Technician during the Korean war for the U.S. Air Force for six years and 1 month. He retired from Dow Chemical Company as a chemical engineer. After retiring, he owned Johnson Consultant Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Meg Irvine Johnson, of Lexington, one son, John Joseph Johnson of Cincinnati, OH, one daughter, Rosa Johnson-Oakes & (Stephen) of Louisville, KY, one sister, Beverly Kowolonek of Union, KY and one grandchild, Lincoln Walter Oakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald Johnson and Kenneth "Ditz" Johnson and one sister, Gloria Wood.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Pastor Lohn Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Vaught Ridge Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
