Fred Denney

August 31, 1923 — April 7, 2006

Fred Denney, son of the late Harvey and Maggie Susan Gill Denney, was born in Woodstock, Kentucky on August 31, 1923 and departed this life on April 7, 2006 at the age of 82. He was a retired milk hauler, a long time farmer and a member of Woodstock Baptist Church. He was a WWII Army veteran having attained the rank of Tec5. He was in the CO C 25 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion and was in Rhineland and Central Europe during WWII. He received an America Theater ribbon, Eame Theater with two bronze stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a WWII Victory Medal. He is survived by a son, Mark Denney of Eubank, two daughters, Freddie Sue & (Curtis) Todd of Eubank and Delores & (Paul) Cox of Somerset, a sister, Mary Elizabeth & (Paul) Kidd of Crab Orchard, his former daughter-in-law, Bridgett Cress, nine grandchildren, Jimmy & (Amy) Smith, Teresa Case, Victoria Michelle Denney, Amy Dawn Denney, April Lee Denney, Skipper & (Jennifer) Todd, Crystal & (Andy) Tompkins, Richard & (Jennifer) Todd and Susanna Michelle Todd and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Faye Cummins Denney, whom he married on November 26, 1948 and who died on April 29, 1990, his parents, a son, Donald Lee Denney and two brothers, William H. Denney and John Marshall Denney. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, April 10, 2006 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ferlin Price and Dr. Harold Brown officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation after 6 PM Sunday. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
