Dorothy Mae Lovins Head, 95, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Rockcastle Health & Rehab in Brodhead, KY. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on November 21, 1920, daughter of the late Thomas Shelton and Betty Ann Estep Lovins. She was a homemaker and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing and fishing. She was very faithful to her church. She is survived by one son, Jerry & (Sally) Head of Ohio, one daughter, Wilma Jean & (Winford) Hubbard of Somerset, four grandchildren, Kevin & (Marsha) Mays, John Mays, Jason & (Michelle) Head and Jeremy & (Suzanne) Head and five great-grandchildren, Richie Mays, Andy Mays, Brodie Mays, Evan Head and Dylan Head. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie P. Head, her parents, eight brothers, Harvey, Benjamin, Leslie, Nelson, Ester, Oda, Herbert and Basil Lovins and one sister, Ethel Mink. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Johnnie Adamson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
