James C. Blevins, son of the late Killis and Bertha Wiles Blevins, was born in King Bee, Kentucky on December 26, 1929 and departed this life on April 12, 2006 at the age of 76 years.
He was a retired laborer for Cumberland Wood & Chair and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was a Korean War Marine veteran having attained the rank of Corporal (E4).
He is survived by his wife, Allene Muse Blevins of Somerset, whom he married on May 21, 1955, a son, Ricky Blevins of Somerset, a daughter, Teri Blevins & (Arron) New of Somerset, a stepdaugher, Jeri Morrow of Louisville, three brothers, Carroll Blevins of Somerset, Elwood Blevins of Science Hill and Bobby Ray Turner of Monticello, a grandchild, Terron James New and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bobby Allen Blevins, four brothers, Eugene, Delmer, Clifford and Huey Blevins and three sisters, Pauline Smith, Virginia Brewster and Christine Hunter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Brown and Bro. Jim Trueblood officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 10 AM Saturday at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
