Thomas "Tom" Poynter

Thomas "Tom" Poynter, 72, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 15, 1944, son of the late Dewey and Jessie Wylene Thurman Poynter. He was retired from Tecumseh and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Tack and Tonya & (James) Caudill, both of Science Hill, two brothers, Ronald & (Peggy) Poynter of Somerset and Tim & (Mildred) Poynter of Eubank, one sister, Joyce & (Paul) Smith of Science Hill, four grandchildren, Danielle Tack, Lauren Tack, Kayla Wesley and Austin McHone, three great-grandchildren, Hunter Todd, Lillybelle Davis and Zoe Pennington and former wife, Sue Randall. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Massey officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 5 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
