Mellie D. Blevins

Mellie D. Blevins, 75, of Bert Ridge Road in Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Ansel, Kentucky on January 6, 1934, daughter of the late Miles and Ethel Sneed Wesley. She retired from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was a member of Science Hill Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Elwood Blevins of Science Hill, whom she married on November 22, 1958, one son, Wade Blevins of Science Hill, one daughter, Pam & (David) Meece of Somerset, one brother, Vascoe Wesley of Bethel Ridge, four grandchildren, Jordan Meece, Jaymee Meece, Cody Blevins and Kyle Blevins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, Noah and Zora Wesley and six sisters, Thura Wesley, Therma Goodin, Thelma Weddle, Edna Hodge, Doris Wesley and Tavoria Wesley. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Lucas and Bro. David Meece officiating. Burial will be in King Bee Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
