Hobert Dee "Red" Haste, 84, of Bethelridge, Kentucky passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at Casey County Hospital.
He was born in Casey County, Kentucky on September 8, 1924, son of the late Jason and Abbie Warren Haste. He was a farmer and a member of Bethelridge United Methodist Church. He was a retired magistrate for Casey County Road Department. He also worked at Farmers Tobacco Warehouse and Pulaski County Livestock Market for many years. He was the bass singer for the Haste Quartet.
He is survived by four sons, Louis Ray & (Peggy) Randolph and Ronald Dee & (Louise) Haste, both of Bethelridge, Roger Lee & (Glenda) Haste of Somerset and William David Haste of Sparta, KY, one daughter, Darlene Delora & (Phillip "Flap") Godbey of Bethelridge, two brothers, Harold Haste of Waynesburg and Virgil Haste of Bethelridge, one sister, Sarah Jane Hendricks of Eubank, eleven grandchildren, Boyd Randolph, Gregory Haste, Helen Pfeifer, Scotty Godbey, Dewayne Haste, Casey Haste, Stephen Haste, Andrea Adams, Jessica Phelps, Daniel Haste, Hobie Haste, one step grandchild, Matthew Lee and twenty two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Rillis Hughes Haste, whom he married on August 27, 1942, his parents, one son, Daniel Clay Haste, daughter-in-law, Clarissa Haste, one sister, Mazie Morris and three grandchildren, Verona and Bonita Randolph and Dale Godbey.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Bethelridge United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
