Charles E. Wood

Charles E. Wood, 64, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Glomaur, Kentucky on December 19, 1944, son of the late Richard and Chloe Pickett Wood. He was a supervisor at Garrett Flexible Products and Rubber Data Engineering in Garrett for 45 years, retiring in 2006. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Gamble Wood of Garrett, IN, whom he married on March 23, 1963, on daughter, Pam & (Jerald) McBride of Garrett, IN, one son, Charles E. Wood Jr. of Garrett, IN, grandchildren, Megan Ann McBride of Garrett, IN, Tristan Elizabeth McBride of Auburn, IN, Carley Rose McBride of Garrett, IN, Chad Richard Wood and Zachary Edward Wood, both of Garrett, IN and one great-grandson, Jarix Michael Wood of Garrett, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Howard Pickett and Eugene Wood and three sisters, Carol Gamble, LaVern Harmon and Joyce Ann Lee. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Woodstock Cemetery. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
