James Morgan

James Morgan, 82, Main Street, Hyden, Kentucky, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester. He was born January 1, 1924. He had served in the military, was a retired coal miner and former U.S. Steel employee. He was also a member of Hyden Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Hue Morgan of Frankfort and Elizabeth "Liz" Morgan of Hyden, four sons, Frankie Morgan of Hyden, Bige Morgan of Bellbrook, Ohio and Larry and John Curtis Morgan, both of Hyden, three sisters, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Hyden Baptist Church in Hyden, Kentucky with the Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating with military services conducted by the Leslie County Disabled American Veterans Chapter #133 of Hyden. Burial will be Thursday at West Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill. Memorials may be made to Hyden Baptist Church, Hyden, KY. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
