Edith Evelyn Burge, 95, of the Norwood Community in Pulaski County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.
She was born in Knightstown, Indiana on March 8, 1914, daughter of the late Reynolds M. Fannin and Effie Masters Green Fannin. She was a homemaker and the oldest living member of Campground Baptist Church. She was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved her church and neighbors.
She is survived by two sons, Paul F.& (Faye) Burge and William L. & (Sharon) Burge, both of the Norwood Community, eight grandchildren, Paul Glen Burge, Christopher Ray Burge, Matthew David Burge, Andrew Chrisman Burge, Marsha Faye & (Mike) Phillips, Paula Jean & (Mike) Silvers, William Wayne Burge and Michael M. & (Christy) Burge, one step grandchild, Shane & Deidra) Cundiff and nine great-grandchildren, Logan McClure, Luke Burge, Lindsey Silvers, Kailey Silvers, Lacey Silvers, Nicholas Isaiah Burge, Matthew Burge, Jaslynn Burge and Kolby Proffitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis L. Burge, her parents, one brother, Omar Fannin, three sisters, Mabel Young, Neomi Shortridge and one who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Ashley and Bro. Albert McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
