Jeffrey George Burkett

Jeffrey George Burkett, 54, of Observation Drive in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on January 25, 1955, son of Alene (Trimble) Burkett and the late Leonard Burkett. He was a retired educator for Rowan County State Vocational Technical College and a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset where he was active in the church choir. He is survived by his mother, Alene Burkett of Somerset, a step daughter, Christina Norris of Somerset and a step granddaughter, Alysia Aycock of Somerset. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Somerset with Dr. French B. Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Nancy, KY. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday, September 14, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Somerset. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
