Nancy J. Reynolds, 63, of Eubank, Kentucky, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at her residence after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Davey, West Virginia on August 9, 1946, daughter of the late Charlie and Denita Trent McNew. During her years of being active in her church, Mrs. Reynolds was deeply honored and proud of her service as youth leader and that she sang in two gospel groups.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Joe Reynolds, one daughter, Nancy M. Benton and one granddaughter, Courtney Rhea Benton of Nashville, TN. She was born into a large family being the eighth child of eleven brothers and sisters. Frank McNew of Marlton, NJ, Rex A. McNew of Brandenburg, KY, Randall McNew of Fanrock, WV, Robert McNew of South Deerfield, MA, Hazel Potter of Princeton, WV, Sylvia Joyce Caldwell of South Charleston, WV, Bertha Puchalaski of Spencer, MA and Joan Fletcher of Kodak, TN along with many other nephews, nieces and her many many friends. She will be sadly and so greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Mark Cochran and two brothers, John Charles McNew and Charles McNew Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Science Hill Cemetery with Bro. Earnest Reynolds and Chaplain David Green officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday, November 23, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
