Marvin Lee Gossett, 88, of Hickory Nut Road in Nancy, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on November 18, 1921, son of the late John B. and Priscilla Dye Gossett. He was retired from the Pulaski County Road Department and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty Lee & (Raymond) Pittman and Shirley & (Emos) Dick, both of Nancy, two brothers, J.C. & (Louise) Gossett of Nancy and Don & (Margaret) Gossett of Somerset, one sister, Goldie Wehunt of Indiana, eight grandchildren, Larry & (Becky) Pittman, Debbie & (Eddie) Robinson, Jeff Pittman, Donna & (Jeff) Petrey, Lisa & (Steve) Amon, Kim Wheet, Roger & (Judy) Pittman and Marsha & (Eddie) Phelps, ten great-grandchildren, Brandie, Jason, Justin, Amanda, Joshua, Holly, Heather, Jacob, Brittany and Jalee and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edria Lila Mofield Gossett, whom he married on April 27, 1940, his parents, three brothers, Kenneth, Lonnie and Glen Gossett and two sisters, Sylvia Clark and Wilma Gerber.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Yaden and Bro. Lloyd Mofield officiating.
Burial will be in the Sweet Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #38.
Visitation for Mr. Marvin Lee Gossett will be after 6 PM Monday, November 30, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
