Johnnie P. Head, 90, of Pulaski County, Kentucky passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Plato, Kentucky on April 16, 1919, son of the late John Martin and Nannie Mize Head. He was a retired factory worker for Diamond International in Cincinnati, Ohio and a farmer. He was a devout Christian and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lovins Head, whom he married on January 30, 1940, one son, Jerry & (Sally) Head of Liberty Township, OH, one daughter, Wilma Jean & (Winford) Hubbard of Somerset, four grandchildren, Kevin Mays, John Mays, Jason Head and Jeremy Head and four great-grandchildren, Richard, Andrew and Brodie Mays and Evan Head. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gilbert, Hubert and Charlie Head. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 7, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation for Johnnie P. Head will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
