James Luther Trimble

December 1, 1927 — June 16, 2006

James "Jim" Luther Trimble, 78 of N. Hwy. 1247, Somerset, Kentucky, passed away June 16, 2006 at his residence. He was born December 1, 1927 in Nancy, Kentucky, son of the late George Laco and Bonnie Prather Trimble. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korea War era, a retired postal carrier, a farmer, a graduate of Nancy High School and member of the Science Hill Nazarene Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years and caregiver, Shirley Louise Linkes Trimble; two children, James David and (Sue Dell) Trimble and Sheila Ann and (Douglas) Mitchell, both of Science Hill; four grandchildren, Amanda Susan and (Chad) Hill, Science Hill, Marcus Charles Mitchell, Lexington, Rachel Michelle Trimble, Science Hill and Eric Douglas Mitchell, Science Hill; four great-grandchildren, Austin Jordan Hill, Wesley Tanner Hill, James Cayden Trimble and Abigail Sue Johnson all of Science Hill; two sisters, Hylia Davis, Powell, Tenn. and Ruie Jane and (Jack) Henderson, Danville, KY and a brother, Shirl Trimble, Quincy, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jonathan David Trimble, three brothers, Murrell Trimble, Dewayne Trimble and Luid Trimble and a sister, June Leese. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, June 19, 2006 at Science Hill Church of the Nazarene with Bro. Bob Hoots officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation after 10 AM Monday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Dr., Somerset, KY 42503 or The Evangelical Missionary Society.
