Everett Dick, 81, of Slate Branch Road in Somerset, Kentucky, husband of Pauline Muse Dick, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 5, 1928, son of the late Dayton T. and Alma Godby Dick. Everett served his country in World War II, retiring out of the military as major, having served for 22 years. He was employed by Somerset Refinery as a supervisor until his retirement. He served as Sunday school teacher, board member and held other various positions in his church. He presently attended Lake Cumberland Nazarene Church, where he was a member.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Muse Dick, whom he married on July 25, 1950, two special nephews, Russell Dick and James Russell Dick, both of Science Hill, three special nieces, Patti Adams of Longmont, CO, whom he helped raise, Margaret Littrell of Somerset and Margaret Lee of Science Hill and several other nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Carl, Arl, Ottis, Howard and John Hardin Dick and one sister, Edith Wesley.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Varn, Bro. Bob Stokes and Bro. Roy Tincher officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation for Everett Dick will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
