Georgia E. Whittaker Meece "Granny"

Georgia E. Whittaker Meece, "Granny", 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Coin, Kentucky on August 1, 1920, daughter of the late Elmer and Rosa Hargis Whittaker. She was a homemaker and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, John Lloyd "Buck" & (Doris) Meece of Somerset, one daughter, Virginia "Jennie Lee" Stuart of Lebanon, TN, three grandchildren, Michele & (Keith) Ricks, Lynda & (Mark) Blakemore and Carla & (Kenneth) McClanahan, five great-grandchildren, Emily Meece, Austin Ricks, Jordan Ricks, Krystin Blakemore and Dylan Blakemore and one niece, Linda Dunivan of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ottis Whittaker, one sister, Jewel Livingston and one grandson, Anthony Meece. The family thanks all friends, neighbors, caregivers, Lifeline and Hospice of Lake Cumberland. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Tim Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
