Juanita Phelps Norton Crowder

Juanita Phelps Norton Crowder, 83, of Lower Line Creek Road in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky on July 29, 1926, daughter of the late Rudolph and Martha Kessinger Phelps. She was a homemaker and a member of Swiss Colony Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Steve Crowder, two daughters, Darlene Crowder and Arleen Crowder, all of Somerset, two step grandchildren, Amber Smith and Jordan Smith and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Crowder, who died on May 13, 1994, her parents, one daughter-in-law, Sue Crowder, one brother, Roy Lee Phelps, one sister, Mary Alice Wheatley and one half brother, Dolphes Phelps. She was also preceded in death by Mae and Zade Norton, who raised her. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, January 22, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Marvin Rose and Bro. Scottie Nix officiating. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
