John William Price, son of the late Fred and Laura McKinney Price, was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky on April 21, 1916 and departed this life on July 8, 2006 at the age of 90 years.
He was a carpenter for Brown Brothers, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Geneva McKinney Price, whom he married on October 11, 1945 in Pulaski County, three sons, Ulanda & (Linda) Price, Ray & (Betty) Price and Bobby & (Linda) Price all of Somerset, two daughters, Faye & (William) Brown and Brenda & (Richard) Cook, both of Somerset, a brother, Walter Price of Indiana, two sisters, Alma Price Hubble of Eubank and Thelma Price Smothers of Ohio, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Verna Jean Price, two sisters, Ruby Price Barker and Bonnie Price Gill, two brothers, Jack Price and Paul Price and two granddaughters, Sheila Carol and Cynthia Ann Price.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, July 10, 2006 at Poplar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Jesse McCoy officiating.
Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
