Homer "Sammy" Miller

Homer "Sammy" Miller, 68, of Brodhead, Kentucky, formerly of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky. He was born in Shopville, Kentucky on November 28, 1941, son of the late Homer Lewis and Sabra Cundiff Miller. He was the head dairy manager at Kroger for 38 years, a farmer and loved horse riding and trading. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Dick Miller of Brodhead, whom he married on January 12, 1965, one son, Tony & (Darcy) Miller of Richmond, KY, four grandchildren, Savannah Paige Miller, Owen Chase Miller, Braeden Samuel Miller and a little girl who will be born in June, former daughter-in-law, Crystal Miller, mother-in-law, Freda Dick of Science Hill, one brother, Donald Miller of Rex, GA, five sisters, Maxine & (Eddie) Whitis of Acorn, KY, Geraldine Miller of Dallas, GA, Christine & (Eugene) Meece of West Somerset, KY, Norma Jean Jasper of Somerset and Linda & (Kenny) Spear of Lexington, KY, two sisters-in-law, Maxine Black of Science Hill and Bobbie & (Jerry) Casada of Louisville, aunt, Roberta Cundiff, several nieces, several nephews and a special ex-niece-in-law, who will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Dolphus Dick, two sisters who died in infancy, two brothers-in-law, Virgil Jasper and Harold Black and nephew, Michael Meece. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Wiggins and Bro. Don Stayton officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice Care Plus, 208 Kidd Dr., Berea, KY 40403. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
