Shirley Madaline Holder

Shirley Madaline Holder, 80, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 28, 1929, daughter of the late Charles and Emma Vaught Fullen. She was a seamstress for Palm Beach and a secretary for the U.S. Forestry Service. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Holder Jr., whom she married on October 2, 1948, four sons, David Holder of Lexington and Charles Holder, John Holder and Chelsea & (Clara) Holder, all of Somerset, one daughter, Pamela Holder of Riverside, CA, four grandchildren, Craig Holder, Christy Holder Stringer, Deborah Penny and Lucas Penny and three great-grandchildren, Adam Stringer, Dylan Stringer and August Stringer. She was preceded in death her parents, one daughter, Patricia Holder and one sister, Violet Fullen Hedge. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, February 22, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. C.E. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
