George Wayne Hargis

George Wayne Hargis, 59, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He is the son of Anna Mae (Greer) Hargis of Waynesburg, KY and the late Leslie Hargis. He was a co-owner of the Hargis Auto Sales of Somerset , a farmer, U.S. Airforce Veteran and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother; his children, Brandon &(his wife, Kim) Hargis of Lily, KY, Jordan Hargis of Somerset, Kristin Hargis of Louisville, Nicole Holmquist of Avery, CA, two brothers, Rothel Hargis of Somerset and Darrell Hargis of Waynesburg, two granddaughters, Caitlin Holmquist and Brooke Holmquist, and his former wife, Fredericka Floyd Hargis. He was preceded in death by his father and three sisters, Kathy Rose, Wanda Kay Hargis and Katie Sue Hargis. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2006 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Brandon Hargis, officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
