Verna Ruckel Burton

Verna Ruckel Burton, 93, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Eubank, Kentucky on April 24, 1916, daughter of the late Harry and Lucretia Baugh Ruckel. She was a homemaker and a member of Briary Union Church. She is survived by one son, Jan & (Dianne) Burton of Eubank, two daughters, Geraldine & (Ray) Owens of Jamestown, TN and Jackie & (Loren) Singleton of Lewisburg, OH, two brothers, Rowen & (Norma) Ruckel of Florida and Clyde & (Dora) Ruckel of Florida, seven grandchildren, Doug & (Faye) Singleton of Lewisburg, OH, Deron & (Mary) Singleton of West Alexandria, OH, Carla & (Rudy) Lunsford of Eaton, OH, Jimmie & (Tammy) Owens of New Lebanon, OH, Karen & (Randy) Campbell of Dayton, OH, Mark & (Bekki) Burton of Science Hill and Cara Burton of Eubank and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Burton, whom she married on January 26, 1934, her parents, three brothers, Henry Ruckel, Albert Ruckel and Robert Ruckel and three sisters, Mabel Ruckel Baston, Viola Ruckel Burton and Mammie Ruckel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Richard West officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
