Charles "Chaz" Mink

Charles "Chaz" Mink, 62, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 18, 1947, son of the late Orlan and Viola Warren Mink. He was a supervisor with Crane Plumbing and a member of IBEW as an equipment operator. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead Lodge #255 and Oleika Shrine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam Era and receiving a purple heart. He is survived by his wife, Janice Girdler Mink of Science Hill, one daughter, Charissa & (Jason) Phelps of Science Hill, two sisters, Wanda Harper and Janet Mink, both of Somerset and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Christine Daniels, Linda Mink and Sandy Mink. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Harper officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
