Evelyn Baker

Evelyn Dobbs Baker, daughter of the late Frank and Lura Slagle Dobbs, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on August 26, 1928 and departed this life on September 8, 2006 at the age of 78 years. She was a nurse's aide for Sunrise Manor and was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Junior & (Freda) Baker, Charlie & (Lana) Baker, Connie Ferrell and Allen Baker & (Donna) all of Eubank, a sister, Frankie & (Winfred) Singleton of Newport, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, Shannon Ferrell, Jamie & (Nikki) Ferrell, Chris Baker, Emily & (Daniel) Roark, Jill & (Adam) Wright and Justin Baker all of Eubank, Heather Baker & (Jerod Rigney) of Somerset and Kristi & (Scotty) Morrow and Heather & (Robert) Meece both of Monticello, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy Baker, whom she married on August 10, 1946 and who died on June 21, 1985, her parents, a son-in-law, Roger Ferrell, four brothers, Wilby, Willard, Leonard and Gene Dobbs and three sisters, Elsie Mercer, Lexie Meece and Pearl Roberts. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
