Wilmer L. Lord

January 13, 1915 — September 12, 2006

Wilmer Louis Lord, son of the late John B. and Eva Bone Lord, was born in Bottineau, North Dakota on January 13, 1915 and departed this life in Columbia, South Carolina on September 12, 2006 at the age of 91 years. He was an aircraft mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Airforce having served during WWII. He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Moreland and Linda Woods, both of Lexington, South Carolina, two step daughters, Ellen Phelps of Somerset and Louise Williamson of Osage City, Kansas, a sister, Eva Cossette of Jamestown, North Dakota, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Pryor Lord, who died on November 26, 1991, two step daughters, Wanda Smith and Lois Nicholay, four brothers and four sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jack Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 12 PM Saturday, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
