Granville E. Hurst

Granville E. Hurst, son of the late John Thomas and Pearlie Mae Pitman Hurst, was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky on February 12, 1914 and departed this life on September 14, 2006 at the age of 92 years. He was a retired supervisor for Citizens Gas & Coke in Indiana and was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Lena Hurst of Somerset, with whom he lived, four brothers, Charles & (Edna) Hurst of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Lawrence & (Willena) Hurst and Walker Hurst both of Indianapolis, Indiana and Earl & (Wanda) Hurst of Smyrna, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Jackie Cheh, Brian Fink and Billie Fink and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Purcell Hurst, his parents, a daughter, Glenda Darlene Fink, six brothers, Lewis, George, Roy, Bobby, William and Henry Hurst and six sisters, Pearlie Duvall, Julia Ellingsworth, Jenny Lou Hurst, Mattie Burton, Mabel Taylor and Grace Nicholson. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Monday, September 18, 2006 at Bainbridge Cemetery in Bainbridge, Indiana. Burial will be in Bainbridge Cemetery in Indiana. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
