Edwin G. "Ed" Gibson, son of the late Dr. Charles Victor and Mary Elizabeth Isaacs Gibson, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on December 21, 1917 and departed this life on September 18, 2006 at the age of 88 years.
He was owner and operator of Ed Gibson & Company. He was a member of Science Hill Christian Church and Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge #255. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII.
He is survived by a son, Ralph S. & (Brenda) Gibson of Science Hill, a daughter, Jane Crum of Somerset, three grandchildren, Michael Crum, Jennifer & (Stewart) Livesay and Monica & (Mark) Hansford and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Jane Livesay and Savannah Faith Livesay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Estes Gibson, who died on October 1, 2002, his parents, six brothers, Victor Madison Gibson, William Samuel Gibson, Charles Clifton Gibson, Ralph Isaacs Gibson, Ray Dye Gibson and Earl Cain Gibson and two sisters, Ursula Florence McKinney and Gladys Emma Ashley.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Science Hill Christian Church with Bro. Charles Lucas and Bro. Jason Summey officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 10 AM Thursday at Science Hill Christian Church.
