Henry Howard "Hank" Surber, son of the late Fred and Coletta Mae Walls Surber, was born in Eubank, Kentucky on September 17, 1926 and departed this life in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 18, 2006 at the age of 80 years.
He was a retired machinist for the General Electric Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a resident of the Clifton area neighborhood in Cincinnati and enjoyed training horses. At one time Mr. Surber was involved with horse trading.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Viola Mullins Surber of Cincinnati, Ohio, two daughters, Peggy Surber of Norwood, Ohio and Patty Surber of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, a son, Mark Surber of Clifton, Ohio, six grandchildren, Shawnte & (Eric) Williams of Groesbeck, Ohio, Dustin Cash of Blue Ash, Ohio, Michael Grubenhoff and Star Grubenhoff both of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, Katie Harris of Norwood, Ohio and Cory Surber of Groesbeck, Ohio, a brother, Charles & (Doris) Surber of Bridgetown, Ohio, four sisters, Mae Young of Somerset, Irene Dellinger of York, Pennsylvania, Iva & (Charles) Harrington of Sharonville, Ohio and Lorene Davidson of Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Etna Cemetery with Elder Charles Surber officiating.
Burial will be in Etna Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until 12 noon Saturday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home.
