David Ray Roberts, 70, of Science Hill, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on December 31, 1939, son of the late Wendle and Fannie Wesley Roberts. He was a machinist with Jackson Products and attended Lakeside Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by one son, Dwight Roberts of Maryland, three daughters, Kim Doan of Lancaster, KY, Karen & (Randy) Emerson of Science Hill and Kay Roberts of Liberty, six grandchildren, Janey Foley of Lancaster, Brandon Mounce of Lancaster, Michael Ivan Roberts of Albany, KY, Kaylee Greer of Liberty, Jessalynn Jacob of Science Hill and Jake Brown of Liberty and one great-grandchild, Kaden Alcorn of Lancaster. He is also survived by his wife, Valerie Roberts of Nancy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Olive Haggard and Treva Burton.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David King officiating.
Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
