Vernon Bobbitt, 71, of Pine Hill Road in Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Shopville, Kentucky on April 18, 1939, son of Leta Bates Bobbitt and the late Wilson Bobbitt. He was an employee for D.W. Wilburn and co-founder of God's Helping Hands. He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maze Brown-Brinson Bobbitt of Somerset, his mother, Leta Bobbitt of Somerset, one daughter, Lisa & (Dormus) Smith of Somerset, one step son, Douglas Bray of Bronston, two step daughters, Mindy & (Jerry) Miller and Jennifer Cook, both of Burnside, one sister, Elaine & (Charlie) Cates of Somerset, six grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Stephanie Sullivan, Josh Cook, Teirra Cook, Ashley Bray and Douglas Bray, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Sullivan and Rayahna Miller and special friends, Kelly Rogers, Dillon and Houston.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Bobbitt and one grandson Jonathon Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Nix officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
