Ira R. "Red" McDonald

Ira R. "Red" McDonald, 80, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on January 1, 1930, son of the late Fred and Lettie Walker McDonald. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church, where he was the song leader for many years. He was a Korean War veteran. He is survived by his wife, Beulah M. Waters McDonald, two daughters, Kathy & (Tim) Mounce and Karen & (Claude) Denney, two grandsons, who were his pride and joy, Matthew Mounce and Cody Denney, all of Eubank and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ivan McDonald and two sisters, Lavon Denney and twin sister, Ina McDonald, who died in infancy. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
