Lee Roy Hamlin

Lee Roy Hamlin, 69, of Somerset, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky following a two month illness. He was born in Sampson, Kentucky, on May 15, 1941, son of the late Clarence and Lilly Wilson Hamlin. He was an employee for Ford Motor Company and a coal miner. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Smith, Kentucky. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Thelma Ferris Hamlin of Somerset, two daughters, Lora & (Terry) Fretwell of Knoxville, TN and Brenda & (Billy) Kirk of Science Hill, one grandson, Joseph D. and eight foster grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, William Harvey & (Margaret) Hamlin of Corbin, KY, sister-in-law, Linda Hamlin of Smith, KY, a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Ed Dick and their family. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Grant Hamlin and Hershel Hamlin. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Rev. Billy Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 AM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
