Doris J. Hamilton, 77, of Nancy, KY, formerly of Waynesburg, KY, departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in Franklin Co., KY on April 21, 1933, daughter of the late William V. and Carrie B. Smallwood Osborne. She was a homemaker, a poet, and songwriter. She completed two recordings for King's Records in Nashville, TN, and also worked as a songwriter with Jack Rhodes Publishing in Nashville, TN. She was a member of the Ancient Mystical Order of Rosecrutions, World of Poetry, Fraternal Order of Police, United Nations of USA, International Platform Association, Who's Who of Int'l Poetry and a former member of the Eastern Star. She attended Somerset Community College and Eastern Kentucky University.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Hamilton, a daughter, Ginger Renaker of Nancy, two grandchildren, Brandy Lee &( her husband, Tony) Perkins, Aaron Paul & ( his wife, Brittany) Renaker and a great - grandchild, Katherine Lee-Hope Perkins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, with Bro. Larry Perkins officiating.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
By her wishes visitation will be after 12 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
