Norma Laverne Salyers, 77, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in Eubank, Kentucky on January 15, 1933, daughter of the late Lawrence McKinney and Susie Turner McKinney Stephens. She was a Teachers Aid at Waynesburg Elementary. She was also an EMT and Dispatcher for Waynesburg Area Rescue Squad. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Delynn & (Anita) Salyers of Mintonville, Michael Salyers of Science Hill and Mark & (Charlotte) Salyers of Eubank, one daughter, Connie Sue & (Philip) Bullock of Mintonville, four sisters, Margie Hall of Deland, FL, Maxine Salyers and Betty Wall, both of Somerset and Wanda Henderson of Stanford, four brothers, Glenn Stephens and Larry Stephens, both of Science Hill, Ronald Stephens of Stanford and Wayne Stephens of Waynesburg, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Salyers, who died on April 23, 1993, her parents, step father, Mack Stephens, brother, Lonnie McKinney and sister, Joann Stephens.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Vola Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Pilot Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
